     My name is Ms. Duggan and I am the Library Media Specialist for the Dolbeare School.  I have worked for Wakefield Public Schools for over twenty years. My parents grew up in Wakefield and many family members have attended Wakefield Public Schools.  My first job in Wakefield was as a Library Skills Teacher at seven elementary schools. Over the years I have held a number of different positions. In 2017, I returned to my favorite position of all Library Media Specialist!!  

     My job as a Library Media Specialist is such an exciting and fulfilling one!  I love working with students and teachers and helping them find the right book or information whether it be for school or personal use.  Researching and experimenting with new digital tools and the best way to use them is also a lot of fun. STEAM programs and Makerspaces are something I am passionate about!

     In my free time I enjoy kayaking or running with my dog and spending time with my horses.  I love to read and write, and have a few children’s books that I hope to one day have published!  There are so many wonderful children’s authors some of my favorites are Beatrix Potter, Walter Farley, Gail Gibbons and Ashley Bryan.  Two of my favorite books are Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney and Library Lion by Michelle Knudsen.
